Full Itinerary: Merzouga Camel Trek 2 Nights & 3 Days
Day 1: Merzouga Village to Erg Chebbi Desert Camp
Your 2 night camel trekking Merzouga journey begins in the late afternoon. You will meet your guide at our local office, securely store any heavy luggage, and pack a small overnight bag. You will mount your camel and ride into the western dunes of Erg Chebbi for about 90 minutes. We pause at a high crest to watch a spectacular Sahara sunset. Upon arriving at your first desert camp, you will settle in, enjoy a hot bowl of harira soup followed by a traditional lamb tagine, and listen to the crackle of the campfire under a blanket of stars.
Day 2: Deep Desert Exploration & Nomad Families
Wake up early to catch the sunrise painting the dunes. After breakfast, a 4x4 vehicle arrives to take you deeper into the desert interior. You will visit a genuine Berber nomad family, sharing mint tea inside their hand-woven wool tent to learn about their historic way of life. Next, we visit the village of Khamlia to experience live Gnawa music, a spiritual rhythm originating from Sub-Saharan Africa. After lunch (we recommend the local Berber pizza), you will head to your second, more remote camp. Enjoy another fresh dinner and rhythmic drumming around the fire.
Day 3: Final Sunrise and Return to Merzouga
Your final morning starts with one last glorious sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi. After a hearty breakfast at the camp, you will mount your camel for the peaceful ride back to the edge of the desert. You will arrive back at our Merzouga office around mid-morning. Here, you can retrieve your main luggage and take a refreshing shower, concluding your unforgettable 2 nights in a Merzouga desert camp.

"Trip Plan Morocco made everything so easy. Our guide carefully led the camels, and the animals looked very well treated and healthy. The luxury desert camp was unbelievableβa hot shower in the middle of Erg Chebbi! Highly recommend this 2-night trip."
